About

About Our Optometrist,

Dr. Amy D. Rasmussen

Personal Philosophy

Hi! My name is Amy Rasmussen. I have been practicing Optometry for over 31 years and I still love being an eye doctor. I believe in performing a thorough eye examination, answering the patient’s questions and educating each patient about their own particular eye conditions. I enjoy working with children and their families, participate in the InfantSEE program and believe it is important that every child be given the best opportunity to develop good vision beginning at an early age.

Professional History

I received my training from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. I started my career in my home town of Litchfield, Illinois by buying my first practice from my own eye doctor. After 8 years I decided to move to Las Vegas, Nevada and after a couple years I had the opportunity to buy the practice where I had been working. Eventually my husband and I decided to move to a place that would be a better environment to raise our daughter. We chose Frisco, TX to be our new home and we absolutely love living here. I decided to start my own practice in Frisco which focuses on children and families.I truly enjoy serving this community!

Professional Associations

I have been a member of the American Optometric Association since 1987 and I am currently a member of the Texas Optometric Association and the North East Texas Optometris Society. I have served as the Downstate Optometric Investigator for the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation and as a Clinical Examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.

Community Involvement

I have always enjoyed being active in my community and my church. I am the past president of the Litchfield Chamber of Commerce and the Litchfield Rotary Club, where I hold the distinction of being the first female member and the first female president of that club. I am currently belong to the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. I am an active member of First Frisco United Methodist Church where I sing in the choir and am a Trustee. I was a volunteer for my daughter’s school, and Leader of her Girl Scout Troop before she graduated.
