InfantSEE

What is InfantSEE?

InfantSEE® is the American Optometric Association’s public health program designed to insure that eye and vision care becomes an integral part of infant wellness care to improve a child’s quality of life. Under this program participating optometrists like Dr. Amy Rasmussen provide a comprehensive infant eye assessment between 6 and 12 months of age as a no-cost public service.

Even if no eye or vision problems are apparent, at about age 6 months, you should schedule your baby with Dr. Rasmussen for his or her first thorough eye examination. Dr. Rasmussen will test for any eye health or vision problems including: excessive or unequal amounts of nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism; eye movement ability and eye health problems. While these problems are not common, it is still important to identify children with them at a young age. Vision development and eye health problems are easier to correct if treatment begins early. If you have any questions about this program please call our office today or visit www.infantsee.org.
